NSHAHS Faculty Share Best Practices at Technology Fair

On Tuesday, February 21st, North Shore Hebrew Academy H.S. hosted a professional development day for all administration, faculty, and staff.  The afternoon's Technology Fair provided an avenue for faculty to share best practices using classroom technologies ranging from SMART Boards, to Google Apps, to Poll Everywhere, and more.  Take a look at our video highlight, narrated by Mr. Fisk, Director of Instructional Technology.

Zachary Blumner's Artwork to Appear on NYC Jumbo-Tron

We are pleased to announce that senior Zachary Blumner’s artwork was selected for display on a large screen jumbo-tron in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.  Zach's Abstract painting depicts "Musicians in Motion."  The use of repetitive curved lines and vibrant color enhance the feeling of joy and movement.

A slideshow of selected works will be shown in its entirety on Friday, March 2nd, and Saturday, March 3rd from 5-8pm on both days.  Zach’s piece is #415 in the sequence and will display at approximately 7:25 on both nights.  The address of the Big Screen Plaza is 851 Avenue of the Americas (between 29th and 30th St.), New York City.

Tomchei Shabbos

North Shore Hebrew Academy High School students ventured to Queens to package food for families in need through "Tomchei Shabbos".  The experience gives the students the opportunity to better understand how communities and local merchants combine their time, money and goods to help others.  These packaged groceries will be distributed to many families for Shabbos.

Cohen Named National Merit Finalist

North Shore Hebrew Academy High School is pleased to announce that Samuel Cohen has been named a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship Program.  He is one of 15,000 finalists chosen among 1.5 million entrants for consistently high academic performance and outstanding standardized test scores.

Senior Zachary Blumner Awarded Honorable Mention



We're pleased to announce that Senior, Zachary Blumner, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the regional judging of the 2012 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for the Region-at-Large. Zachary’s art work deals with his investigation of twins and was made with “Billions of Dots.”  He was inspired by the style of the artist, Seurat.
