NSHAHS Seniors Learn Key Cancer Detection Skills

On Thursday January 31st, NSHAHS seniors learned critical skills for detecting potential early signs of cancer.  The presentation was led by Steven Kussin and Sherri Warshavsky of Hadassah / Check It Out, and Dr. Mushtaq of North Shore LIJ, with boys and girls separated and receiving tailored lessons.

Given the prevalence of both breast cancer (most common type for women) and testicular cancer (most common in men aged 16-25), students in both groups learned important preventative and early detection skills, and asked several questions during and after the presentation.

We’d like to thank all three presenters for taking the time to visit and educate our seniors on this important topic.
